4 Resin Pigment Techniques for your beautiful DIY

There is no actual amount of pigment you can add when it comes to working with resin, however, the amount of pigment added will affect the intensity of the color.

There are 3 types of resin pigment :

1. Translucent color (transparent)
2. Solid color
3. Metallic color

You should keep in mind that while adding pigment, the color intensity is very important. If you want your workpiece to be very dark, you should gradually add the pigment little by little until the desired color intensity is reached.

1. Dripping Techniques

If you want your workpiece to have more than a color, mix the desired pigment separately in a plastic glass or prepared container, then drip them on your workpiece. This technique will cause the resin to be mixed gradually, and it makes the workpiece look dimensional and very colorful.

2. Inverting Glass Technique

After mixing the desired pigment in the plastic glass, you can also flip the glass upside down on your workpiece to add a unique pattern.

3. Drawing Patterns Techniques

You can simply make your workpiece colorful by mixing the desired pigment and pouring alternately into the silicone mold. Then you can use a toothpick or a sharp stick to draw the patterns. This will make the workpiece look extremely dimensional.

If you want to add more color, you can pour the desired color, and drop the other desired color to make the pattern. After that, use a toothpick, or a sharp stick to draw patterns.

4. Water Surface Techniques

Anyone who enjoys being creative, you can try to draw patterns on the water’s surface, then dip the canvas or workpiece into the container where the pattern is drawn and leave to dry. It can be coated with resin once it is completely dry.
